Sanctifying Life

Every positive thing we do contributes

to the evolution of the divine milieu.

Every positive thing we do in mystical consciousness contributes more,

because in mystically-conscious action, we are the divine in action.

Even routine activities, performed in God’s consciousness,

sanctify our lives and awaken humanity to love.

Prophet, Bodhisattva, or Buddha?

In addressing humanity’s dream of suffering and injustice,

three sacred paths stand before us –

prophet, bodhisattva, or buddha.

A prophet, outraged at violence to the sacred dream, acts powerfully

to improve humanity’s conditions.

A bodhisattva, nearly realized, remains in the dream

to help others awaken.

And a buddha, fully awakened, dwells in the pure state of Sunyata,

seeing through the insubstantial nature of all dreams.

Each is a valid state of consciousness.

Each a profound service to the world.

Go where your spirit calls.

Finding Heaven

The logical brain categorizes the world as objects –

house, tree, rock, car, person.

The mystical brain

sees the world as subjects,

each mysterious and alive,

conscious and sacred,

all living together in Eden.

We know how

to find Heaven on Earth

but we forget.

What God Wants Us to Know

God wants us to know where we live,

to open our senses to now

and this and here,

because wherever we are is God.

Divinity pours through the world

like sunlight through silk.

In this radiant splendor,

why would we go anywhere else?

It’s all God –

this grass,

this bench,

this heat,

this bird call,

 this blackberry bush,

this water,

this consciousness.

In this consecrated moment,

we are sacred, too.

That’s also what God wants us to know.

Only One Being

Only One Being

The material world is literally the

substance and being of God.

Every nanosecond, divinity births

the world from its own essence,

incarnating a profoundly sacred place.

Look deeply into anything

and you find God.
