On and on we think there is something to do or fix,

think the answer lies somewhere else,

think there are more problems to solve,

yet we have already found the treasure.

Lift off the thin veneer of identity and what’s left is God –

the living, divine, conscious immensity of Being.

This is the mystic’s spectacular discovery.

Find out for yourself and never go back

to the straitjacket of

who you thought you were

in the marketplace of opinions.

Child’s Play

Believing consciousness

to be our own, we take

the long adventure of life.

Like a child playing with toy figures,

we create an imaginary self.

Duality is God’s way of joining the dream

for the pure experience of creativity.

Sometimes, engaging God’s consciousness,

we create nightmares.

But as my grandmother used to say,

“Life is a schooling of the spirit

from the cradle to the grave.”
