How do I tell family and friends

I have changed, 

the old me passed away and a new one seeks

only peace, quiet, and the simplicity of love?

Of course, “I” am still here, but in a new way.

Images of my aging grandmother,

sitting quietly in the garden,

draw me into the waiting stillness.

I offer my grandchildren 

her same unspoken presence,

resting in divine being.

The Next Stage in Aging
